Our Story
The Açaíty mindset is more than just about eating healthy; it's about living life to the fullest with every moment we are given.
Hi, I'm Hannah, the founder of Açaíty. I was on a warpath to conquer what I thought was success. I graduated college with two degrees at 18, published two bestselling books, and was on track to attend one of the top law schools in the country before I could even drink champagne to celebrate. I had been working since I was eleven years old to save up money for my dream car. I became obsessed with having enough money & success to finally do what I wanted, despite not fully even knowing what that was.
The dream car
After years of work, I bought the car and drove it straight home to take my family for a drive. I felt empty, having wanted something for so long... & then finally getting it.
I kept asking myself, what now?
That question quickly got answered for me.
The next morning, I woke up to my mom frantically shaking me, saying one of the people in my immediate family had
a seizure and was in the hospital. I drove straight there, and they put her in surgery.
A few hours later, the doctor came into the room and told us she had stage 4 cancer and only a few months to live.
Throughout her whole life, she has always been brave, and continues to do so every day. We don't know how much time we have left with her, but no one knows when their time's up. All we can do is appreciate every second, every moment.
It's hard, losing someone you love. But it's equally hard trying to pick up the pieces, knowing that life will never be the same. This has been the single greatest lesson I ever learned, & has forever changed the trajectory of my life.
The truth is, stuff only equals temporary happiness. Even goals, once they're achieved, leave people hungry for even greater success. It's a vicious cycle that only lets you go when you let it go.
That's what Acaity is about. It's taking time to appreciate the little things, treating yourself every once in awhile, & sharing life with the people you love. Bowl by bowl, we're spreading the message that life is not meant to be rushed through, but savored & enjoyed. More than anyone, I've had to learn that the hard way.
So learn from my mistakes, as I hope to, & pause for a few moments to look at what really matters. As my mom likes to tell me, take a chill pill.
XOXO,
